Chain of custody

FSC Policy

CARTONAGEM CARDOSO and ECC - EMPRESA DE CARTÃO CANELADO are organisations dedicated to the production and sale of cardboard packaging and to the production of corrugated board in sheets and reels. Their mission is to be recognised as competitive companies offering the best quality/price ratio and solutions that meet the requirements put forward daily by customers.

Within the scope of the Chain of Custody management system, they commit to all interested parties to implement and maintain the normative requirements of chain of custody standards, comply with applicable legislation in commercial transactions, labour relations, occupational health and safety, and respect human rights and the Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.

Workers’ principles

  • Workers are free to associate, choose their representatives and collectively bargain with the employer.
  • Any form of forced labour is rejected.
  • A recruitment policy is maintained for workers aged 18 or over.
  • Everyone has equal employment opportunities and receives equal treatment.
  • Working conditions promote safety and health by seeking to eliminate hazards, reduce occupational health and safety risks, and encourage worker consultation and participation.

This Policy is based on the commitment to control the origin of forest-based material according to chain of custody values, and to ensure that the organisation is not directly or indirectly involved in the following activities:

Activities not permitted

  • Illegal logging or trade in illegal wood or forest products.
  • Violation of traditional and human rights in forestry operations.
  • Destruction of high conservation values in forestry operations.
  • Significant conversion of forests to plantations or non-forest uses.
  • Introduction of genetically modified organisms in forestry operations.
  • Violation of any of the ILO Fundamental Conventions.

We believe these intentions can only be achieved through the active participation of all interested parties. It is essential that everyone understands and puts into practice the intentions expressed in this statement.
